Holy Smokes the 80's were fun. Okay, the helmet head and the big shoulders were a little over the top, but local stations actually sent their reporters to cover hot spots around the world back then. Now most reporters rarely walk outside--instead they take feeds at their desk. Much like police officers who refuse to patrol their beat. How can they protect a community they don't know?
I was so young when I got to the Bay Area, and I was a single mom with two kids. I had much to learn about reporting. No matter how many awards I won and how good my work was, it seem to be my hair that everyone talked about. What's up with that?
